Women's Christmas Dinner Recap

Last Friday and Saturday was the 2012 Women’s Christmas Dinner.  The mood was excited and elegant.  Everyone was dressed to perfection and the centerpieces were more lovely and creative than you could imagine.  Attendees were treated to delectable appetizers including sparkling apple cider, meatballs, a
nd chicken tortilla roll-ups.  Dinner included chicken cordon blue, cheesy potatoes, dinner rolls, and green beans.  For dessert, a delicious cranberry apple crisp with fresh whipped cream completed the meal.  The program included a soloist  performing several Christmas carols and a speaker who brought to life the theme, Celebrate Jesus, It’s True.

The theme hit very close to home for this new mother of two. A baby changes everything.  So innocent and so sweet.  Once a newborn comes into your world, life as you know it changes forever in an instant.  Before long, you cannot even remember what life was like with your child(ren). With Christ, our lives should be the same.  When I envision my life before him, I can’t even remember how I made it through the day.  But God sent his son to earth, even if you were the only one, He still would have sent his son to save you.  With Christ as the center, my life is completely different and more meaningful than it ever could have been before Jesus. This Christmas, remember to celebrate the child in the manger, the baby who changed the course of eternity for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who hostesses a table, participated in the skits, assembled the appetizers, and those who attended.
